The media has treated Obama and Clinton very differently. Someone at a Clinton campaign held up a sign that said, “Iron My Clothes”, giving reference to a woman’s place being in the home doing domestic work. No mention of this was in the news. If someone held up a sign in the presence of Obama’s campaign that said, “Shine My Shoes”, the news would have been all over it. What’s the difference?
He has copied everything Hillary has done and media considers him to be the smart one.
Hang in there Hillary until the convention. Maybe by then the media will wake up and report the news, as it should be.
By the way, has anyone noticed how Obama goes along to get along? When things get tough, he caves in under the pressure. Only when it hurt him in his campaign did he resign from his church. The only one he was trying to protect was himself. And people want him to be the president?

Even though East Texas was always our home, we traveled a good bit when I was growing up. Daddy got work where he could find it and we went with him. It was 1952, I was 11 years old, and we were living in a town called Wylie, about 70 miles from home here in Texas. Daddy, one of my brothers, and one of my uncles, would get up everyday and leave around 5 am to work construction on a spillway at Lake Lavon (about 30 miles away). I was a good size for a 5th grader and walked about a mile to get to school everyday.
School was not a favorite so there were some days I missed with a complaint of the usual stomach ache. This particular day was different, I really did hurt. My side hurt like it had never hurt before and momma decided that I needed to see the doctor. However, there was no doctor in Wylie and the closest was about 20 miles out.
One of my other brothers and his wife had been visiting us that week and drove us that morning. It didn’t take that doctor long to figure out it was my appendix and that I needed to go to the hospital. Momma was scared, being so far from our home and said, “Not now. His daddy is not here”. We had no way of getting a hold of him so momma told my aunt to figure out how to get a message to him and let him know what was going on and that we were heading home.
We got in to see our doctor and he confirmed what momma didn’t want to hear, “He’s got to go to the hospital now”. Now the closest hospital was in Tyler, a catholic hospital, another 40 miles away. My daddy and momma had been married about 32 years at that time and momma was not about to start making big decisions with out first talking to him. “Not now. His daddy is not here”. The doctor told us we could follow him in his car to the hospital, just to let him know when we were ready.
We went home to see if daddy had gotten the message. I’ll bet that doctor called us every hour to check on me. It wasn’t until about 6pm that my aunt called to let us know the men were in from work and were on their way. I guess daddy got home around 9 or 10pm and was I glad to see him. It just seemed to all of us that everything would be ok now that he was with us.
The doctor was driving his 1948 Chevrolet when we met him on the square in town. For some reason, the image of that car stands out in my mind very clear to this day. It may have been the yellowish illumination from the street lights, I don’t know, but it looked like a big boat turned over with yellow and brown stripes down the side. Maybe I was just sicker than I remember and my imagination was drifting to hallucination with the fever.
We finally made it to the hospital and they were waiting and ready to take me to surgery. I was pretty scared but before they took me back, they let me see daddy one last time. All I could think to say to him was to ask him to pray for me- he hugged me and said ok and told me he loved me. That’s the only time I ever heard my daddy pray; and the only time I ever heard him say that he loved me. Momma later said that daddy had stayed up all night with me, praying and watching over me.
Considering my appendix had ruptured, I still recovered with out problem. All I remember after that was being awakened the next day by blood curdling screams and what an earthquake must have felt like. It seems my small hospital room only had one chair, and momma had slept there. Daddy rested under my bed to stay near me if I needed anything. It was his hand the Nun had stepped on upon approaching my bedside to check on me. I can only imagine what she was thinking when daddy screamed too, hitting his head on the bed, while scrambling to get out from under my bed. I don’t know who was most scared; me, daddy, momma, or the Sister.
Pain, I remember the pain well, and of how scared I was, and being that sick. And being scared of the Sister, in her black cloth, head to toe, robe. All I could see of her were her hands and frowning face. Her keys jingled in pockets unknown as she got me out of bed and walked me down the hall. Hunched over, I was too scared to fuss as her stern voice instructed me to, “straighten up or you will always walk that way”. I didn’t think I could stand up straight but she scared me enough that I was too afraid not to. Even though I thought my stitches were ripping out, you better believe I did what she said.
The scar is now faint, but it still reminds me of that time. It reminds of family and the love we have that keeps us together, in memory as well.

Who believes he knew his Pastor, Mr. Wright for twenty years and did not hear the message he was preaching; hate. (Was he asleep during the sermons?) If this is the hate message some church members hear every Sunday no wonder there is so much conflict in the USA. Oprah must have gotten the message. She left the church.
Does hearing this message in church ease his conscience for his drug use in his teen years? Blaming someone else for his drug use? Changing his story? Is Mr. Sleepyhead’s memory fading in and out? Now he says he remembers hearing the sermons?
How American is he? He will not put his hand over his heart while saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Will the Rev. Wright be by his side in the White House?
Look at the money spent on investigating Clinton on Whitewater while in the White House. Clinton was not found guilty of anything. She stood strong during the investigation, unwavering during any accused involvement.
If we want this country to turn around, vote for Hillary. She is very intelligent and she can get things done.

I can’t believe what I just saw on the television show Sixty Minutes. Carl Rove asks Jill Simpson from Alabama to see what she could get on the democratic governor of Alabama.
He asks her to follow him and try to catch him cheating on his wife and get pictures of him in a compromising, sexual position with one of his aides. She couldn’t find anything on him so Mr. Rove tried and found a bribery charge to pin on him.
The jury deadlocked two times and finally on the third time after much pressure, they found him guilty. He was immediately put in chains and carried to prison. The usual procedure is to wait forty five days before sentencing.
After the trial there was an investigation but Mr. Rove refused to go under oath and testify. Just like his boss George W Bush has never agreed to go under oath and testify on anything.
Mr. Rove has quit his job with Bush to write a book but he is working for Fox News. There is no wonder Bush wants all his papers kept secret for a zillion years with all the shenanigans that has gone on in his administration. The only reason this story came out on television is because Jill Simpson a republican from Alabama felt so guilty about what happened to Governor Siegelman. He was sentenced to seven years in prison.

George W. Bush got his library approved at SMU which is Laura’s school. Why didn’t he want his library on the campus at Yale where he graduated? Like father like son. Did they not want Bush 1 back in his home state? He put his library on the Texas A&M campus. Now in the last few weeks SMU has had problems with their students going off campus, getting drunk, having accidents and getting arrested. So what has been suggested is that they put a pub on campus. Now this will be a place GW can visit and party like he did at Yale. A real plus for him. He can throw up a tent for his library because there will be no papers to be kept there. He wants everything to be kept a secret. George W. Bush graduated from Yale University in 1968. He said he was in the National Guard and served as an F-102 fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard. Not sure what happened in Alabama. Then he received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1975. You would think with a resume like this the country would not be in the mess it’s in. In Texas there is a saying. A Yankee is a northerner that comes down here and stays a little while and goes back. A damn Yankee is a northerner that comes down here and stays. I wish we could talk him into taking his tent and going back up north.

Obama Is No JFK
Teddy is from Massachusetts where the big dig tunnel is located. It has leaks and caved in and killed people. He needs to take care of his business and be a little more creditable himself. He is also the man that walked away and let his passenger lady drown and did not go back until he sobered up. I am not so sure I would want his endorsement. I guess if people can forget and forgive all of this they can do the same for Obama. He admitted using marijuana, cocaine, and alcohol during his teen years to block out memories he had of his childhood. He changed religions from Muslin to Christian.
We don’t need another drug head. Just look at what we have had the past eight years. It seems all the news we hear is for Obama and they are downing Hillary every chance they get. I will say again Hillary is the most qualified candidate running for president.

I got this in an email this morning from a friend. I agree with some of this angry woman’s comments to a point. I am not sure about her references, especially Reagans.
Letter from one “Angry Woman”I don’t know who wrote it but they should have signed it. Some powerful words. This woman should run for president. Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady.“Are we fighting a war on terror or aren’t we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation’s capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania?Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn’t they? And I’m supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was “desecrated” when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?… Well, I don’t. I don’t care at all.I’ll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.I’ll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia I’ll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for chopping off Nick Berg’s head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I’ll care when the cowardly so-called “insurgents” in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques. I’ll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide. I’ll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution’s Bill of Rights. In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don’t care. When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don’t care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don’t care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed “special” food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being “mishandled,” you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don’t care. And oh, by the way, I’ve noticed that sometimes it’s spelled “Koran” and other times “Quran.” Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don’t care!! If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it’ll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior! If you don’t agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don’t complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:“Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don’t have that problem” — Ronald Reagan I have another quote that I would like to add AND…….I hope you forward all this. “If we ever forget that we’re One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” Also by… Ronald ReaganOne last thought for the day: In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England’s Prime Minister Tony Blair’s words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said: “A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in… And how many want out.” Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.One died for your soul, the other for your freedom. YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON,AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM.AMEN!

Thanks Hillary for standing your ground last night in S.C. You could have asked Obama about his teen years when he used alcohol, marijuana and cocaine to push questions of who he was out of his mind. Maybe you can ask him next time if his mean spirited attitude towards you flares up again. See how he would explain that.

The Dallas Morning News reported on the 18th that while John McCain was a prisoner of war his wife had a serious automobile accident. Ross Perot said he paid all of her expenses. After the accident she was left with a very bad limp. When John came home from prison he had a limp as well. He more or less dumped her and found his present wife that had money.
Perot also said that McCain did not want to investigate the possibility of other prisoners of war that was sent to Russia or any other place. I can’t help but wonder why McCain would not want to try to search for and bring home any other POW’s. Is there the possibility of a Manchurian Candidate here?
It seems that the same thing happened to Bob Dole. He met his wife in the hospital after being injured in the war and she took care of him. After he got out of the hospital they moved to Kansas and she continued to take care of him and wrote for him while he went to school. He ran for local offices in Kansas and they had a daughter. Later he was elected senator from Kansas. He left his wife and daughter after he met Elizabeth and married her. Dole also ran for president but did not make it. Elizabeth was head of The Red Cross. She later ran for senator and was elected. Her bid for president failed as well.
Does this seem like McCain and Dole both did the same thing? Leave their wife and family to marry for political gain?
I suppose, if the comparison of like minds, morals, and values continue, McCain will not be elected president either. After getting beat, I wonder if anyone in McCain’s family plans on running for any office.

Do It now.
Put G.W. under house arrest now! Until he is put under oath:
1. Tapes were destroyed.
2. Firing of the U.S. attorneys.
3. Mission accomplished? Did he know something the rest of us didn’t know when he landed on that aircraft and got out in his flight suit and announced mission accomplished?
4. Millions of dollars made by his friends and family in big business.
5. When he was governor of Texas he reversed the emission control that had been put in place.
6. Where was Chaney while Bush embarrassed the nation on his recent trip begging for oil? Why hasn’t he set in place an energy policy for the USA? I guess if he had an energy program the Bushes, Chaney and friends Halliburton and Brown & Root would not have control.

Does anyone remember Howdy Doody on Television in the fifties? We did not have a TV but one of the stores in town would leave theirs on and we would watch it. Sometimes I would go to a hotel down town where my uncle lived and watch television there. Later on I had friends that would invite me over to watch theirs.
Buffalo Bob was a real person but old Howdy Doody was a freckle faced puppet. Someone had to pull his strings and tell him what to say. He did not have a mind of his own. Howdy Doody was innocent and harmed no one. He was made out of wood. As far as I know, Buffalo Bob, who pulled his strings, harmed no one either.
Has anyone noticed the similarity between our president and Howdy Doody? The difference is the person or people pulling our presidents strings has done harm. We have been carried into a war that has killed too many of our people. He was so eager to go to war he would not wait for help from the United Nations. Harm has been done and our nation divided. I wonder if we will ever get out of debt.

Do we need another politician that found Christ just in time to suit his needs.
Do we need someone that admits to using alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine during his teenage years “to push questions of who I was out of my mind”, his words.
I found this article and thought it was interesting. It seems he has not been honest in his book. Has this not been talked about so the republicians will have something to talk about if he is the democratic candidate?
Get tough Hillary!

Earlier last year we were on a job in southern Louisiana. Deep Cajun country. In the state of Louisiana (at that time) cock fighting was legal. The lobby for this sport is so strong that it protects all fowl equally. We lived in an apartment on a very narrow street and across the street there were two roosters that roosted in a tree very close to our window but not on our property. They started crowing any where from 1am to 3am every night and crowed until sunup.
After about a week, and about 3 hours of sleep a night, my wife finally went over and asked the old man that owned the roosters if he could do anything about them. He said he guessed he could kill them and that would stop the crowing (fried chicken sounded good to me). She asked him if he could pen the roosters up but he said they would still crow. In other words he refused to do anything about the problem. Odd story, he said the roosters came to his house right after his two sons were killed in an automobile accident (as though there was some connection). I had complete and utter sympathy for his loss, but compassion did not seem to be reverberated for our lack of sleep.
We called the sheriffs department and a deputy came out one morning about 5am. He said if it was a dog barking and disturbing the peace he could make the owner do something but since it was a rooster (protected fowl and all) there was not anything he could do. We would just have to live with it. Exhausted from lack of sleep and looking for any kind of suggestions, we asked the deputy what he would do if it were him in this situation. Roosters crowing the whole time over head and making the most awful screeching, the deputy just shook his head and under his breathe (off the record of course) said if it were him, he’d shoot him (the rooster, not the old man).
In complete desperation and frustration, I recorded the roosters crowing and went to see the Justice of Peace. She tried to help but soon found there was nothing she could do.
I even told her how some of the neighbors seemed to think that the old man thought those roosters were his sons that were reincarnated. In my opinion, I told her, if he thought they were his sons he should have carried them into his house and took better care of them. She giggled a little with no direct eye contact.
Thinking back to the deputy’s visit and trying to take matters into her own hands, my wife, completely agitated and ready for battle, secured a brand new, store bought, top of the line, sling shot. Now my wife is normally a mild mannered woman who would do no harm to anyone, but sleep deprivation will drive the most innocent to unspeakable acts.
About 3 AM, my wonderful, loving wife of 47 years, who was just trying to take care of me and see that I got a little rest, got up, and made sure all lighting was turned off in our house. She stood silently in our doorway, door cracked slightly open, slowly drew back on her new weapon, taking careful aim towards the tree where the roosters so fiercely crowed, and released a solution into the air.
She had dead aim… but missed the roosters and hit the side of the old man’s house instead. Unexpectedly, all lights from his house flashed on, all neighborhood dogs began barking, and the old man’s loving wife suddenly appeared in their doorway with a shotgun that made my wife’s weapon of choice pale in comparison.
I think of those roosters every time I see the commercial where the lady is giving her husband that sleeping medication, Nyquil, and tells him it will help him sleep like he did before the rooster went blind. Maybe that’s what I needed to help me sleep. As it was, we ended up being run out of Louisiana by two roosters’ (possibly reincarnated, not sure about that one) nighttime serenades. I guess it just goes to show the power of lobbyist for gambling in Louisiana.

I agree with Gene Lantz, secretary, Texas Alliance for Retired Americans, Dallas. He says “All through the Bush administration, America’s seniors have seen our Social Security, pensions and health care under attack”.
“Business and government spokespersons say they can’t afford to keep their promises to seniors, but the fact is that those benefits are ours. We aren’t asking somebody for a handout. The only new thing in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s ruling and other developments is that they are trying to make it legal to steal what we earned.”
This is a very good reason to vote for the democrats.
Look at the surplus of money the Bush administration had to work with when they came into office. Their usual propaganda about us being in a recession when he got in office was just not true. Seems like to me the democrats have to go in and clean up the mess the republicans always make.

The Dallas Morning News chose the illegal immigrants as the Texan of the Year. There were pictures of Mexicans running across the border trying not to get caught by the border patrol.
Here we are waging a culture war with the Mexicans. They steal our social security numbers. They are never turned away from hospitals and get free health care. They steal our jobs by working for lower wages. They can’t speak English so our schools have to adapt. The people that employ these Mexicans should pay their medical bills and taxes and be responsible for teaching them English. Texas has an increased population of 32% since 2000 because of the Mexicans.
I have a hard time accepting them as Texan of the Year.
There is a long article about them in the Dallas Morning News. You can google 2007 DMN Texan of the Year and read about it.

George Bush never vetoed anything until the democrats took over in 2007. He ran as the uniter. The country will remember him as the divider.
Who in the world is he waving and smiling at anyway every time you see him?
That bail of hay placed in front of that old shed where the news reporters all stand in Crawford is simply a set up. All smoke and mirrors to make it look like it is his ranch. It is actually about five or six miles from his ranch.

We had a good Christmas. We celebrated with our son, daughter-in-law and their two little girls from Kansas and our daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter that live near by.
Our daughter-in-law was kind enough to get our estimated taxes figured out while she was here. We had a big mess but she got it all straightened out. It is good to have really smart people in our family.

My sister did a lot of research on our family history. One story she found was about one of our distant relatives who fought in the Confederate Army in the War Between the States.
After Lee surrendered and the men turned in their guns he headed back to Texas. Someway he had learned his sister had married and was living up east. Since it was on his way home he went by to see her.
He had never met his new brother-in-law.
When he got there he found out he was a republican. Now he was such a staunch democrat he refused to sleep in the same house with him. He spent the night on the front porch and left the next morning.
Being a democrat is in my genes.

This book should be written behind bars. He was the architect of Mr. Bush’s 2000 and 20004 presidential campaigns. He was the architect of a lot of things. Mama Bush told Rove to get him a woman to help settle him down and that is when he got Laura and him together He is the one that told George W Bush to get religion after losing his run for congress. It worked when he ran for governor.
The State Capitol at Austin was built from money borrowed from the Confederate widows’ funds. A group opposed the plaque on the grounds that told about how it was built. This plaque was removed during the night while Bush was governor and nothing was said about it. When all the fuss was going on about the ten commandants in the Judges’ chamber in AL we found out Carl Rove was behind that. He had them removed. I don’t know who has more power Rove, Chaney or the Bushes.

Rick Perry was on the front page of the Dallas Morning News this morning selling three things, Giuliani, Texas and himself. I think he wants to be vice president and certainly president some day.
When Perry was LT governor his driver was speeding and got stopped. Perry got out and told the officer of the law to let him go he was on his way to the Capitol. I guess he is above the law. This was all recorded on the surveillance camera and was brought out while he was running for governor.

Perry is campaigning for Giuliani and thinks he is so great. Just look at his life. How many times has he been married and how broke was he that he could not pay child support. Taking care of your children should be first and foremost. If he didn’t want to take care of his own what will he do if he gets to be president to take care of the people?
Look at the man he recommended to the president which on Meet the Press there were excuses, excuses.
I thought a true catholic could not divorce, but what does an old Baptist know.

What a mess. What’s wrong with telling the truth? There should be no apology to anyone past or present if drugs, arrest, or flip flopping, is in their past. If they are going to be in public office I think it should be discussed. I don’t think people took George Bush’s past serious enough.

Hispanics makes up the majority of those who come to the downtown center according to Rev. Jay Cole crossroads director. Mr. Cole said that having Spanish speaking employees and volunteers has helped build trust with the illegal immigrants who come for service. Despite language barriers many agencies have found ways to get by. I think the National Guard should put these folks in their two and half ton trucks and transport them south across the border. If Mexico does not accept them then let’s go after Mexico. That would be easy. They have oil that is going to China. If we have to take their people why can’t we have their oil?

Auditors questions 90M in Medicare payments for the Medicare subcontractors helping enact the prescription drug benefit for the elderly and disabled government centers for Medicare and Medicaid services. They paid 735.4M to more than 250 subcontractors. The drug benefits kicked in on January 1, 2006. The questionable money represents about $1. out of every $7. spent. Since I am a mid 1941 recipient it affects me. Again who represents us?

I am reminded of the time George was jogging in Austin while he was governor of Texas. It was along a main road with his gang. A garbage truck driver was distracted which led to the truck turning over and dumping garbage on Governor Bush. I guess he was jogging in the road. Was this a sign of future power which he thought he had.

Some think it should be left up to the individual states on emission control. Washington decided there should be only one plan for all states. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California said he would go to court to reverse the E.P.A. decision.
The emission control was set in place for Texas when Bush became governor. He did away with this program. The businesses that had spent the money to buy the equipment to inspect for emission control sued the state and recovered the $25,000 each had spent. That was paid back by the state to these businesses. The cities that had to be reimbursed were Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Port Arthur, and Corpus as I remember.

It is a shame that a good bill is written like the 35miles per gallon auto bill and it will not pass the house unless the republicans get what they want. Our Texas senators Kay Bailey Hutchinson and John Cornyn both voted to keep the tax cuts for oil companies.
Why do the big oil companies need a tax cut? Do they not already make enough off of us?

The people from Sabine Pass are still waiting for their money from the state of Texas from 2006. Hurricane Rita survivors are still living in FEMA trailers with no end in sight. I mentioned this December 15 and there was a story on CNN this morning. The sad part is the state has the money they just can’t seem to do the necessary work to get it to the people. Rick Perry is governor of the state of Texas and he wants to be Rudy Giuliani’s vice president. It seems like he needs to take care of business at home before he goes running around the country campaigning for Giuliani. Perry has only paid out 10% and is holding the other 90% until he can get it right. It wouldn’t hurt for CNN to investigate Rick Perry to help get the truth out.

Harriet Miers and Al Gonzales, White House lawyers, David Addington counsel to Dick Chaney and John Bellinger, who was senior lawyer at the National Security Council, were all in on the decision to destroy the CIA tapes of the torture water boarding between 2003 and 2005 according to the White House intelligence officials. We are finding out Bush and Chaney do not keep anyone around them that have minds of their own and won’t do exactly what they want them to do.
Their involvement was much more than the White House admitted too.
I imagine 34 seconds of water boarding of anyone mentioned above with all the others watching would get to the truth real fast.

Mitt Romney on meet the press reminded me of a six pound bass that was turned loose in the bottom of a boat. On the questions Tim Russet asked him about immigration he blamed his son for hiring illegals. That man has a different answer every time he is asks a question.

It seems Mr. Huckabee’s son was implicated in the torture and hanging of a stray dog while working as a counselor at an Arkansas Boy Scout camp in 1998 when he was 17. David Huckabee was fired from the job, but reports are Mr. Huckabee, governor at the time leaned on law enforcement officials to squelch a request by a local prosecutor for investigative help in the case. No charges were filed in this case.
Was this the same son that tried to get on an airplane in the Little Rock airport earlier this year with a gun?

Since the Mitchell Report on steroids came out The Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association expects to decide today if Roger Clemens, a baseball pitcher will speak at its annual session next month in Waco. Roger Clemens denies the claim he used steroids. Is this a case of conviction without proven facts?
I wonder if it is too late to check Nolan Ryan. He had a 100+ mph fast ball.

The cable blackout is for big business, cable and the NFL. Does Jerry Jones need money so bad he has to make all those commercials?

I think professional athletes should be put on notice that they will not be signed if they have tattoos or long hair. The young people look up to these guys and they should be responsible role models.

How about those Cowboys. Romo needs to keep his private life away from the game.

There was a letter to the editor in the Dallas Morning News asking the question, “Wouldn’t it be interesting to know if Oprah thought so much of Barack Obama, his qualifications, depth of experience, etc, that she would hire him to be CEO of Harpo Corp? The letter went on to say “the answer is probably not. His qualifications would be clearly lacking, so why does she think he can run the country?”
Last week Obama said, “Our moment is now,”—Black voters urged to help Democrat seize history, nomination. Are they playing the race card?

We visited the Clinton Library in Little Rock which was very impressive. Clinton was born in Arkansas and I think it was appropriate for his library to be there. I wonder why we have to have the Bushes in Texas since they are not really from Texas. The only two presidents that I know of born in Texas were LBJ and Ike. LBJ build his library here and I think Ike built his in Kansas.

While I was working in Little Rock earlier this year there were a lot of letters to the editor about Huckabee giving priority to the Mexicans for college while passing over the local people. He claims that was not the case but where there’s smoke there’s fire. I figure the people writing the letters knew what was going on.
I understand the IRS arrested some thirty or so illegal workers in the federal court house in Little Rock.
I also found out from local subcontractors that they could bring Mexicans in on a visa without homeland security being updated. Have you tried to get a homeland security? It took me about four months to get mine.

Looks like Rick Perry wants to be our next Vice President. He has been campaigning for Rudy Giuliani. Perry made the statement that Mr. Bush was never a fiscal conservative, because he spent, spent, spent while he was governor of Texas. He made this statement while in Iowa campaigning for Giuliani. The once golden boy Bush is now fodder for Perry while campaigning for Giuliani. Who’s paying Perry’s traveling expenses.
As far as the spending goes, Bush is doing a pretty good job of spending in Washington.
The money for hurricane Rita victims has been paid by FEMA to the state of Texas. Only ten percent has been given to the victims. Rick Perry said he wanted to get it right before he lets them have it.
Talk about big spending. If Perry gets his way they will build a six lane toll road from Mexico City through Dallas with the US buying the land and paying all expenses. This would be build by a company from Spain and Mexico. After it is built the toll road would be managed by the builder with the money going to Mexico.
It would only cost half as much and would go twice as fast if it was just built going south to Mexico.

My handle was Captain Crunch. I had regular CB users I talked to driving to work everyday. I drove from eighty to a hundred miles one way. While they were building Reunion Tower in Dallas there was a man working there that gave traffic reports on the CB. At the time I don’t remember the radio giving traffic reports like they do now.

Remember the Studebaker. The folks in Washington voted to demand 35 miles per gallon for automobiles in the future. I remember my family owning a 1947, 1952 and 1953 Studebaker. I drove
